Premier Post
Welcome to The Renaissance Garden Guy blog. This is my very first feature and I’m extremely excited about launching this site. Since this is my premier post, and I’m feeling a bit tentative, I’m going to keep this one short and sweet. For the featured image of my first post, I decided to use a picture of the first bloom of 2021 on the first plant that I bought for this garden. This is a miniature rose bush which I picked up in a big box store in April of last year. It’s the little plant that started my entire gardening adventure, and it’s not so little anymore. I guess it’s sort of a metaphor for my whole garden and my new gardening adventures in general.
If these images look familiar to some of you, it’s probably because you may have seen them on The Renaissance Garden Guy Facebook page. I recently used them on Facebook in anticipation of launching this blog today. They’re pictures of happily growing plants that reference my own happiness with both the successful launch of this blog and my garden itself.
So for this premier post only, it’s all about the fluff. No step-by-step instructions for not screwing stuff up (like I’ve done plenty of times). No stories of my combat with garden pests and my techniques for banishing them. No methods or pictures of my construction of cool garden structures or hardscape. You’re not getting any of that today. Just fluff. A small amount of fluff. Just for today.
In the posts to come, however, you’re going to read (and see) all about this stuff, and more. And if you can read these posts and glean some useful information from them, or at the very least have a few laughs at my expense, then I’m doing my job.
Until the next time, Cheers, and Happy Gardening!
