Readers' Gardens 2023 Invitation

The Renaissance Garden Guy “Readers, Show Me Your Gardens!!! 2023” Submission Invitation

The Renaissance Garden Guy "Readers, Show Me Your Gardens!!! 2023" Submission Invitation

Welcome to the official submission invitation for The Renaissance Garden Guy’s upcoming “Readers, Show Me Your Gardens!!! 2023” feature.  This right here is the goods: It’s the official readers’ gardens 2023 invitation, and it’s got all the info you’ll need to get your garden’s photos included in this year’s feature.  Keep reading to get the details, and to see some pics of my own garden (sorry, I couldn’t resist sneaking a few in on you).  Here you go…

Time’s a-wastin’, sports fans, so I’m not going to mince words.  We’re off to a late start.

Since I’m getting this readers’ gardens 2023 invitation, and the “Readers, Show Me Your Gardens!!! 2023” feature itself, out much later than I’d intended, I’m going to limit the number of participants to 50.  And those 50 participants are getting in on a first come, first served basis.  The first 50 readers to submit their pics will get them published in the feature. If you’re one of those first 50 submitters, you, along with a damned big global audience, will see your plants and flowers right here on The Renaissance Garden Guy.  Frankly, the best part (and I’m speaking from a purely selfish standpoint here) is that I get to see all of your shots, too.  I always wonder about what grows in your gardens, my dear readers and subscribers, and this is my opportunity to find out.  I love it, and I can’t wait!

Here’s everything you need to know to submit your shots:

  1. Send me three photos of your garden(s) and/or your favorite flower(s).  You can send three photo collages instead of three single shots, if you’d prefer – I’ll count one photo collage as one single photo.  (Please don’t send more than three.)
  2. Email them to me at john@renaissancegardenguy.com
  3. The photos can be of your garden and/or your favorite flowers/plants/bushes/trees.  Photos of indoor, balcony, container, rock, vegetable, fruit, and water gardens are also perfectly fine.  Of course, potted plants are great, too.
  4. Include your first name and the first initial of your last name, (or your nickname or business name) and your city, state/province, and country.  (Sorry, but I won’t publish any photos submitted without this info.)
  5. Please note the following: Your email address will never be shown or published.  Your email address will not be saved or added to any mailing list.  It will be discarded upon receipt of your submission.  If you are a subscriber to The Renaissance Garden Guy, your email address will continue to be maintained in private fashion.  Any photos you submit will become property of The Renaissance Garden Guy.  They’ll only be used by The Renaissance Garden Guy for the purposes of this one particular feature.  You will retain ownership of your original photos.  Your submission of these photos and accompanying information as outlined above implies your consent to these terms.
  6. The first 50 submissions will be published on The Renaissance Garden Guy on September 23, 2023.  The whole feature will be dedicated to your flowers and gardens.  No writing from me.  Just your pics and the basic info you provide as described above, to go along with your shots.  I will publish all three of your pics.  Again, this feature is limited to the first 50 readers to submit their photos.  The entry deadline is September 6, 2023.  If I don’t get 50 submissions, I’ll publish what I receive.
  7. 150 pictures might seem like a lot, but when it comes to fabulous shots of beautiful gardens, it’s definitely not nearly enough!
  8. So, be one of the first 50 readers to submit your photos, get them in by September 6th, and see them published right here on The Renaissance Garden Guy on September 23rd!

Last year’s feature, “Readers, Show Me Your Gardens!!! 2022,” was the first of its kind here on The Renaissance Garden Guy, and it was a wonderful success.  Each and every one of the submissions was absolutely beautiful.  My thanks go out once again to last year’s participants.

Well now, gang, you can quit reading right here, close this tab, and start getting your garden pics together.  You’ve got all the info you’ll need to do that.  But this here readers’ gardens 2023 invitation wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t foist a bunch of my own garden pics from this spring and summer on you (plus a few of my favorite product recs).  So, if you’re still here, and you’ve decided to stick around, then just step right up and get your RGG garden pics and product recs right here…

I love this Luster Leaf Rapitest 4-way soil analysis meter.  I use it constantly to test for soil fertility and pH levels.  It also measures sunlight and soil moisture levels.  It’s fast, easy to use, convenient, and accurate.  By using this device, I’ve been able to determine the necessity of appropriate fertilizer applications and pH amending to the soil of a large number of the plants in my garden.  To learn more, or to order it right here, conveniently from Amazon, simply click the #advertisement link.  Note that this unit doesn’t test for iron levels in soil.  Also note that I REALLY love this little meter!

My own Luster Leaf Rapitest 4-way Soil Analyzer. I LOVE my little meter!

I love Espoma’s organic fertilizers.  Plant-tone is the one I use for the majority of the flowering plants in my garden (in fact, many of the plants you see right here in this readers’ gardens 2023 invitation receive a regimen of Plant-tone feedings over each spring and summer).  It’s got an N-P-K ratio of 5-3-3 and is a great all-purpose organic fertilizer.  It works perfectly for plants like corydalis, viola, delphinium, salvia, veronica, shasta daisies, and primroses, and many, many more.  Again, Espoma Plant-tone is the food that almost all of the flowering plants in my garden eat.  I wouldn’t use it – and I’d never recommend it – if it didn’t work.  You can order this excellent product right here, directly from Amazon, by clicking the #advertisement link.

Immediately below, you’ll find three links to three different types of Fiskars pruners.  I’ve got six or seven different Fiskars pruning/cutting products in my own arsenal.  They are super-sharp (and they stay that way), incredibly powerful, totally reliable, and easy to see (that bright orange really sticks out when they’re laying in a pile of dirt).  And their durability is legendary.  They’re the only pruning and cutting implements I use.  Click on any of the three #advertisement links below to learn more, or to order them right here, conveniently from Amazon.

Some selections from my vast array of Fiskars pruning and cutting implements. I don't recommend anything that I don't use and believe in.

Thanks for indulging me.  I’m proud of my plants and I appreciate their efforts, so I do like to show them off now and then.  And I appreciate your allowing me to showcase some of the products that I use to help my plants live their best lives.  My garden, and its inhabitants, just wouldn’t be the same without the benefit of these excellent items.  I do believe in the effectiveness of each and every one of them.

But remember, September 23rd will be your day: none of my writing, none of my pictures, none of my anything.  It’ll be just you and your gardens.  I’m hoping that this readers’ gardens 2023 invitation has been helpful in conveying this fact.  And I do hope the instructions were clear.  If you’d like to submit your photos, but you have questions, please go to the RGG Contact Me page and fill out a contact form, or simply email me at john@renaissancegardenguy.com.  I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

As always, dear readers and subscribers, I’m grateful for your interest and your readership.

And I absolutely cannot wait for you to show me your gardens!

Cheers, and Happy Gardening!

  1. John, thank you for inviting your readers to send you pictures of our gardens. I really enjoy seeing all those beautiful pictures.

    1. I thank you, Kevin, for your interest and enthusiasm. The feature truly will be wonderful. There are some fabulous submissions coming in already, and I’m really getting excited. I’m looking forward to seeing the photos of your gorgeous garden in this glorious, globally viewed feature. Thanks once again, Kevin!

    1. C’est moi qui suis reconnaissant, Coline. Merci beaucoup pour votre aide et votre implication. Je l’apprécie vraiment.

    1. I’m so glad you’re participating in this years readers’ feature, Everly – your photos are beautiful! And I appreciate your incredibly kind words. I’m thrilled that you like my garden and the site. Can I tell you how much that means to me? I don’t even know where to start. I must, however, take exception to one thing you mentioned (and you knew that this was coming…). There is NO WAY that my garden, or anything that’s growing in it, even compares to your incredible garden and its beautiful flowers (and fruits and vegetables). And please don’t get me started on the wildlife, which you’ve somehow managed to befriend and connect with in miraculous, near-Franciscan fashion (there’s a wavelength there, I just know it). You’ve taken the glories of your land and have incorporated them into your garden’s design, and vice versa, and have come up with an absolute paradise. Your flowers, your garden, your passion for it all… my efforts are paltry by comparison. But hell, Everly, I’m going to take that compliment of yours anyway because it means more to me than I can tell you.

  2. Love those images…”GORGEOUS”
I don’t have a garden, but I do very much enjoy seeing enchanting gardens🙏🌸🌼🌺

    1. Thank you for checking out the invite, Roxxy. There will definitely be a vast number of entirely enchanting gardens for you to enjoy on September 23rd. I’m surprised that you don’t have a garden, Roxxy. I’m certain that you would grow an exceptionally enchanting one of your own. Thanks again, Roxxy!

  3. I am sure you shall get an amazing collection of peoples’ gardens.
I always like the ones with railroads in them.
