The Loss of My Love

The loss of my love…

In the early morning hours of May 15, 2023, I lost the love of my life – my better half, my soulmate, my partner, my best friend – Dee Dee Duhn.  She passed away peacefully in her sleep while visiting her beloved sister, Carla, in Durango, Colorado.  She was everything to me, and I am lost without her.  The world has lost a great citizen, our dear friends have lost a cherished treasure, Carla has lost her sister, and I have lost my everything.

The Renaissance Garden Guy publishing schedule will be interrupted.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding.

I am totally shocked but had been wondering why I was not receiving answering texts. Dee Dee has been a very close friend, I have known her about 25 years, maybe more. During the 18 years or so that I lived about a mile from her, we shared many late-night talks about every topic, from the highly personal to the global state of affairs.
I am so very sorry for you, and I am quite sorry for myself. I only heard the news yesterday from another friend in New Buffalo. I was planning to come out and visit her in two weeks and was getting ready to text her about arrangements….still in shock.

    1. Thank you for your kind message, Suraleah. Dee Dee thought the world of you, and I am truly grateful for your kindness to her during all the years of friendship you’ve shared, and I am truly grateful for your kind thoughts and words here. Thank you again, Suraleah.

  2. I have only subscribed recently, but I am so very, very sorry for this terrible loss to you. She was a beautiful lady!

  7. Oh, John! I’m so sorry, There are no words that could ease your pain, only… You can’t see her anymore, but you know you can always, always feel her, talk to her, thank her, sing to her, cry: “You are the reason I was born, be with you through all seasons, I’ll always hear you when you call, we’ll keep the love light shining through each night and day, a lonely life behind me, oh what a change you’ve made.” (Supertramp).
… Life goes on, here and There, which are not really so far apart. Receive a big hug from me.
