Premier Piece
Here it is, The Renaissance Garden Guy’s premier piece. It’ll take you less than a minute to read.
By John G. Stamos
Welcome to The Renaissance Garden Guy website and blog. This is its very first feature and I’m extremely excited about getting the ball rolling. Since this is its premier piece, and I’m feeling a bit tentative, I’m going to keep this one short and sweet. For the featured image of my first piece, I decided to use a picture of the first bloom of 2021 on the first plant that I bought for The RGG garden. This is a miniature rose bush which I picked up in a big box store in April of last year. It’s the little plant that started my entire gardening adventure, and it’s not so little anymore. I guess it’s sort of a metaphor for my whole garden and my new gardening adventures in general.
If these images look familiar to some of you, it’s probably because you may have seen them on The Renaissance Garden Guy Facebook page. I recently used them on Facebook in anticipation of launching this publication today. They’re pictures of happily growing plants that reference my own happiness with both the successful launch of The RGG and the garden itself.
So for this premier piece only, it’s all about the fluff. No step-by-step instructions for not screwing stuff up (like I’ve done plenty of times). No stories of my combat with garden pests and my techniques for banishing them. No methods or pictures of my construction of cool garden structures or hardscape. You’re not getting any of that today. Just fluff. A small amount of fluff. Just for today.
In the features to come, however, you’re going to read (and see) all about this stuff, and more. And if you can read these features and glean some useful information from them, or at the very least have a few laughs at my expense, then I’m doing my job.
Until the next time, Cheers, and Happy Gardening!
