Artist Nicole Willbur is back.  Yes indeedy, absolutely, positively.  And she’s got another painting for you.  Tuesday, July 30, marked her second foray into the wilds of the RGG garden this year, during which she executed another gorgeous floral watercolor.  If you stick around, you’ll watch this painting come to life right before your very eyes right here in this feature’s 23-minute-long video.

But listen, guys and gals, if you’re new here and you’re unfamiliar with Nicole Willbur and her amazing work, you’re going to want to do yourselves a favor.  Before you watch the 23-minute long video centerpiece of today’s feature, check out “Artist Nicole Willbur in My Garden: Painting en Plein Air”, and read her RGG interview, “An Interview with the Artist Nicole Willbur”.  Incidentally, you’ll always be able to find Nicole’s videographic RGG garden plein air painting adventures right here in The Renaissance Garden Guy in Sights and Sounds in the Live and Written Event Coverage archives.  Additionally, Nicole’s videos, as well as her interview here can be found The Fine and Decorative Arts

  1. I loved seeing and hearing fron Nicole as she worked. Her work is so beautiful! Thank you both for sharing this journey with the RGG audience.

    1. Thank you for watching the video and for commenting, Kevin. Nicole’s work is amazing, and her process and mindset are fascinating. It’s a remarkable experience to be out there with her, among all of the foliage and flowers, watching her create these gorgeous works. Each of her paintings evolves and grows in much the same way as the actual plants and flowers. I’m really looking forward to her next visit. Thanks once again, Kevin!

  2. Late response to a wonderful video. The watercolors in the painting and the video colors are very vibrant. It’s great to see an artist of this caliber creating her art.

    1. Thank you for watching the video, Rick, and thank you for commenting. The paints Nicole uses in this work are terrifically vibrant as far as watercolors go. Her explanation of the robust quality and intense color of these paints makes it easy to understand why they’re her media of choice for her outdoor painting executions. I totally agree with you regarding the joy of watching her create. I’ve mentioned in an earlier video, and in this one, as well, that her process – and its results – are as organic as the blooming of an actual flower in my garden. Thanks once again, Rick!

    1. Thank you for watching the video, Annie. You’re absolutely right. Nicole is remarkable. I’m glad you enjoyed watching her work. Thanks once again, Annie

  3. Absolutely beautiful!!!!

    Thank you for sharing 🌺🌸🌺

    1. Thank you for watching the video, Roxxy, and thank you so much for commenting. I agree with you wholeheartedly. She is amazing, and her work literally explodes with emotion. This quality is miraculous for two dimensional art. Nicole is a true master. Like you, I also take immense pleasure in watching her paint. Thank you again, Roxxy!

    1. Thank you for watching it, Lane. And thank you for commenting. I do agree. Nicole’s work definitely conveys a palpable sense of joy. I think that this point is really important: It’s a considerable accomplishment for an artist to elicit emotion from viewers of his or her work. But when that work resonates with its own sense of emotion – as Nicole’s work does – I believe this an entirely different level of artistic achievement. Nicole Willbur’s skill at imbuing her work with emotion is undeniable. Thanks once again, Lane.
