Garden Scenes
Welcome to the Garden Scenes Gallery. I’ve got a bunch of shots from my garden for you right here. Hopefully, these pics will give you a pretty good idea of my design intent, and will illustrate what I’ve gotten done out there so far. I’ve got lots of big changes planned for my garden (new limestone walls, planters, walking paths, waterfall, bigger pond), plus, I’m sure Mother Nature will have some plans of her own for the green and growing citizens that live there. As always, I’ll be adding more pics here on a routine basis, so please remember to check in and see what’s new. If you’d like to check out what my garden design plan is all about, please feel free to have a read of “My Garden Design Scheme” from a couple years back, here on The Renaissance Garden Guy. In the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy the pics. Cheers, and Happy Gardening!
Espoma Organic Holly-tone is an unparalleled food for acid-loving plants and evergreens. It’s an organic formulation with an N-P-K of 4-3-4, a multitude of beneficial microbes, and a respectable amount of sulfur (5%, in elemental sulfur form) on tap for performing its own bit of soil acidifying. As a stand-alone product, I can’t think of a better fertilizer for rhododendrons, azaleas, pieris, hollies, and other acid-loving evergreen bushes. API Pond Algaefix. API Pond Algaefix is the product I use to control and eliminate unwanted algae growth in my gardens’ water features. This product very effectively controls and/or eliminates green or green water algae (Chlorella), string or hair algae (Cladophora), and blanketweed (Oedogonium) in my two ornamental ponds. The product comes with very exacting manufacturer’s directions, which in turn must be followed exactly. When used according to these manufacturer’s directions, API Pond Algaefix is harmless to fish and aquatic amphibians and reptiles. My large frog and toad populations have never been harmed by this product. It keeps my ponds extremely clear and free of unsightly and unwanted algae growth, and is simple to administer. I highly recommend this product. I’ll stress again, however, that all manufacturer’s directions must be followed exactly. Espoma Organic Plant-tone. I am a huge fan of Espoma’s line of organic fertilizers. Plant-tone is the one I use for the majority of the plants in my garden. It’s got an N-P-K ratio of 5-3-3 and is a great all-purpose organic fertilizer. It works perfectly for an incredibly wide variety of ornamental plants. Again, Espoma Organic Plant-tone is the food that a huge number of my plants get. They love it, and it shows. I highly recommend Plant-tone for helping out with your own garden scenes.
